So far these past 9 weeks have been awesome. I really have grown a lot in the art world. I feel like my sketching skills and shading skills have developed more and more every day. Im really excited to dive in deeper and deeper into more art. I hope we get to use clay in the future because that would be so much fun!!!!!!

To some people this picture may look like to faces up close to each other. Others might see a candle stick. For this project we had to draw the other side of the candle stick while our teacher talked about how it looked like two faces. So it was challenging. This really developed my art skills and trained my brain. Using both the left and right side or your brain is crazy hard. So trying to draw this for me was difficult. I tried many strategies on how i should approach this and it finally finished this i done totally done with looking at the stupid other side of the face/candle stick .
What we have here is a positive and negative space collaboration. One of the more memorable projects in art class because we got to use scalpels for the fist time. This type of sticky , black paper was the coolest. Cutting out shapes and placing them around in different ways . I really took a chance with this piece because i had no idea what i was gonna do. I just cut around trying to make fun shapes just for well fun. This project was indeed a cool one. I tried to collaborate with some people to get some ideas and learned some new ways to cut. For example the wavy lines were hard for me till someone showed me an easier way to make them. Learning about negative and positive shapes was the misty interesting lesson by far.
This project was very challenging to me. Water colors are the hardest thing for me to do in art, but it is my favorite. From doing this project thou I developed my art making skills. I had to look at some other examples of water colored fire to get an idea and I practiced a bit at home also. So my painting skills were developed. I also communicated through my art work with the word " Rebellion ". This part of my art was trying to represent the flames of rebellion. The hands represent the rebels true self , and how they really feel. This project took a lot out of me, and i took a lot of chances with it . I used three different tools for this piece ; pens, colored pencils and paint . Ive never done a project with multiple tools so this was a challenge for me, but I got threw it.
Skulls have always interested me, and when the class was given this assignment I almost jumped up and cheered. At first I had no idea what to do for the skull, but I just went for it. Painting with all the bright colors, I was just getting way into it and had a blast. I really communicated through my art work with the bright, happy colors. I did take a chance with drawing the mustache, its a little bit off but its my favorite part. I also solved the problem of what I was gonna do with painting the teeth. It took me a while to think up the idea of making them candy corn , I got the idea of the candy corn form when my brother was throwing candy corn at me. We get inspiration from anything thou, even if you're getting hit by it.
People always have trouble drawing hands, but when drawing the shaded hand I learned that anyone can do it. This shaded hand project made me expand my artistic skills, and it made me collaborate with my other classmates on how to shade. Also I took a chance with the details and drawing the thumb. That was the hardest part of the project, and its my favorite. I wish I could go back in and fix up the nails now that i look at it. I do really enjoy this piece thou.
This by far has been my all time favorite thing I've created in art class .I got to paint , draw and use my creativity to the max! This project so far was the funnest. Using pens and paints together is the best. When doing the letter we were not aloud to outline what we were going to draw on it . So it as actually really fun to just draw what ever random thing that came to mind.
In this project I took some chances with the patterns and colors. Also with the shading I did on the right side of the hand. It was really hard to go around the fingers but this was a really fun project to do . Making a 3D image on a 2D plane . This problem was a real struggle for me and I ran into a lot of problems , but I solved my problems by just continuing my work and not giving up. I took many chances with the colors and patterns in this piece of art. It was a little experiment that started off rough but ended up alright. Doing this project I learned new techniques and explored my mind and expanded it . I really developed my art skills here.
Drawing myself was very difficult. Drawing faces of people has always been hard for me. So this task pretty much made me hate drawing( even though I don't). Using a mirror didn't help either. It made it a bit more difficult for me. I wanted to add details now that I could see my face with the mirror, yet I couldn't add them because every time I tried drawing them I failed horribly. I didn't really try the " symbol system" but it did affect my art a little. When I was drawing my nose I tried to think of drawing lines so I didn't draw my nose horribly wrong. This somewhat developed my art skill when I drew my eyes. Eyes are the hardest for me but looking in the mirror helped me make them a bit better. I took a chance with this art work . I really tired hard with this and I took chances on the nose and eyes . I also think I collaborated with my friend on this art work , my friend gave me feedback on what i should and should add. Or what I should or shouldn't do to make it look my like me.
The first day of school is usually full of expectations and rules. But upon entering the art room that is not what happened. The balloon project we were given was an exciting thrilling activity . Tying an blowing up balloons in groups was fun an exciting. Making the structures , building them up helped me meet the students in my class an grew my mind a bit on creativity .
